SINGLE PERSON INSTALLATION

Windshield installation is a process that requires balance, timing and accuracy. It is not a job that can ever be done correctly by one person. If there was only one professional working solo on your last windshield installation, chances are the job was not done correctly. In such situations, an inspection from a proper professional is recommended to see in case your windshield needs to be reinstalled.

SEEPAGE

Your windshield is supposed to be completely watertight as are other glass parts of your automobile. If you find that your windshield tends to seep or leak at the seams during heavy rain or even in the car wash, get that glass reinstalled immediately! Seepage means that the glass is not correctly attached to your automobile or that the adhesive used is sub-par.

RATTLING OR NOISES

If your windshield rattles or shakes at high speeds, you most certainly need to have that glass inspected. At the same time, even if your windshield is solid, you might hear odd sounds when you’re driving fast or on the open road. This could be anything from whistling and whizzing to humming and buzzing. Again, this indicates to a problem with how the glass was attached and dictates that you have the same redone.

GLASS QUALITY

When you’re having your auto glass replaced, the quality of the glass used is extremely important. If you’re not having your auto glass replaced by a specialized company and the professionals you hire are shady about where the glass is from, we can bet something is off. Again, an inspection would be the recommended course of action here to determine if an auto glass replacement is needed.

POOR GLASS CONDITION

Your windshield glass should be crystal clear when it’s new and there should be no visual distortion whatsoever. Further, newly installed glass should be free of cracks, bumps and blemishes. If you find that the new glass you have installed seems distorted or damaged at points that is a clear sign of a poor installation.

Again, having the work redone and getting that windshield replaced entirely would be recommended here.

RUSHING OFF AND POOR PROFESSIONALISM

If the people who install your glass seem untrained or unprofessional or if they let you drive off right after installation, you might want to think twice. This indicates a lack of professional know how. Furthermore, any seasoned auto glass installation professional knows you need to wait a bit for the adhesive to set before you take your car out after a windshield replacement!
